The Board of Church Properties
The Board of Church Properties is comprised of men and women devoted to the
maintenance, enhancement and safekeeping of our Lord's house and grounds.
The Board of Church Properties is entrusted with the acquisition and care of church property and facilities. We maintain a $4+ million building and a rental house on 20 acres.
Specifically, the Board is responsible to:
- Ensure the building, the grounds, and all furnishings and equipment are maintained in good repair and attractive condition
- Sign legal documents and make contracts necessary to the maintenance and protection of the church and its furnishings
- Upon authorizaion of the Voters' Assembly, sell, mortgage, lease or otherwise convey and dispose of the property of the congregation
- Enlist work crews for special repair, cleaning, painting, decorating, landscaping and other improvements
- Hire/terminate and supervise the work of the custodian
- Determine and establish regulations governing the use of church property and equipment
- Maintain an inventory of church property
- Oversee all aspects of the rental house including occupancy, rent and maintenance
They purchased timber and dressed stone for the repair of the temple of the Lord, and met all the other expenses of restoring the temple.
