The Board of Human Care
The Human Care Board’s objective is to provide compassionate care
and assistance for our congregation the community and those in need.
- We support Clarkston Lighthouse by having food drives throughout the year.
At Thanksgiving we sponsor “Take a Sack and Bring it Back” and a canned good donation on thanksgiving Eve. At Christmas we provide the Mitten & Hat Tree and the Giving Tree for needy families.
- We support the Problem Pregnancy Center of Oxford with a yearly "Bottles for Babies" campaign.
- We hold three blood drives a year for the American Red Cross.
- Campus Crusade for Christ – We support their program “Putting Scriptures in the hands of the Soldiers” with the Rapid Deployment Kits campaign.
- Administer Stephen Ministry, a program that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in the congregation and community.
- Congregational Support
- Provide meals for people in times of need.
- Provide transportation for people when needed.
- Send cards to shut-ins.
- Address health issues of our members.
- Host a servant event for the congregation
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
