WHAT WE BELIEVE

With the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.

Being "Lutheran," our congregations accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not of works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

The word "Synod" in The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod comes from Greek words that mean "walking together." The term has rich meaning in our church body, because congregations voluntarily choose to belong to the Synod. Though diverse in their service, these congregations hold to a shared confession of Jesus Christ as taught in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions which they believe are a correct interpretation and presentation of Biblical doctrine.

About Us

St. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Many ask about the origin of the name of our congregation. The name "St. Trinity" has the understanding of " St." or "Saint" to mean "holy."

Our congregation seeks to profess the Triune God of the Holy Scriptures - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in all that we think, say and do.

We understand that we are a community of believers in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior that need to "grow in Christ's love and the Word" so that we might "share Christ's love with the world."

The ministry of St. Trinity has sought to live and profess that eternal love and life of Christ for the past 120 years. Since our beginnings in Pontiac, Michigan, St. Trinity has relocated twice to our present location on Sashabaw Rd., where the Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to continue His work of reaching our community, and in fact the whole world, with the good news of Jesus Christ and the eternal life He freely offers to all.

Through our church's ministry, facilities and our Preschool, we want to meet the spiritual needs of families with young children as well as letting all who come into our midst to know that they are a part of God's family as they grow to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Come and visit us when you have the opportunity.  If you have any questions, you can e-mail us at sttrinity@comcast.net. Growing in and sharing Christ is what we seek to do and what we want to share with you.
